How to Discover and Share your Gifts

I'm about to ask you something harsh.

But I think many of you may need to hear it as much as I did when someone said it to me a few years ago, so here goes.

Who the hell do you think you are, playing small and not sharing your talents with the world?

My beautiful friend, please hear me:

You're not here to simply take up space, and use up resources.

You're here because you have a gift. Something that you're REALLY good at doing. Something that, when channeled properly, could help a LOT of people. Something that could make the world a better place.

For whatever reason, you've decided not to share that gift with anyone else.

You've locked it up inside you, where it's sitting, dying to get out.

Maybe you had a good reason to hide it. Maybe someone hurt you, BADLY, when you tried to share it. Maybe someone told you it was a curse, and not a gift. Maybe you never learned how to use your gift properly.

Some of you may have been burned so bad, so often, that you may have even forgotten what your gift is.

But if you're not using it, or if you can't even remember what it is- It's totally being WASTED.

Trust me- I know what it's like to feel your gift stirring inside you, begging to burst out and bring light to the world.

I was TERRIFIED to show anyone the genius I held inside.

It was so hard to show others what made me feel special and purposeful, to share the gift that I knew was my REASON for being here on Earth.

But after experiencing the absolute THRILL of helping others by sharing my gift- I never want to stop.

And now, I'm encouraging you to let your gift out- because it feels so damn good!

And it you’re still not sure, ask yourself this question:

If my daughter (or another female I deeply care about) had a gift she wasn’t using due to fear, what would I say to her? Would I want her to hide her gift?

I’m guessing your answer will be exactly what you yourself need to hear in this moment.

Oh, and P.S.- it's also totally normal to need help with rediscovering and using your gift again, especially if you've been playing small and sitting in complacency for a long time.

To help rediscover your genius- the work that you are meant to have in this life- try any/all of the following strategies:

Ask the people you trust what they admire most about you. Ask yourself what you'd do all day, every day to help others if nothing stood in your way. Ask God/the Universe to nudge your heart into remembering what you desire to create, or destroy, or improve more than anything in the whole world. Ask for help from someone like me, who knows how important it is that you do this work and is an expert at seeing the greatness in others.

However you do it, remember- you deserve to find your way to your purpose again, my love.
